Testimony engagements are billed for preparation, deposition, and trial time, with rates that depend on the format and location of the proceeding. KW Life Care Planning provides a written fee schedule, including deposition and trial rates, before work begins.

What drives cost

• Preparation time required to review the plan, the file, and any opposing reports
• Length and format of the deposition, whether in person or remote
• Trial testimony, including standby and travel time
• Whether rebuttal of an opposing life care planner is required
• Travel to the deposition or trial location
• Volume of exhibits and demonstratives to prepare

Billing structure

Testimony is billed at an hourly rate for preparation and at the applicable rate for deposition and trial time. A retainer is established at the outset and applied against time incurred. The current rate schedule, including deposition and trial rates, is provided on request and confirmed in a written engagement agreement.
